What is the Black Panther Party?

In the year 1966, Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale founded the Black panther Party to combat police brutality and oppression of black people.

The Black Panther Party used a guiding document they called the ten point program. This document talked about ending police killings of black people. It also talked about food, clothes, housing, and land for black people.

Fred Hampton was the chairman of the Chicago Black Panther Party. He was a master speaker and organizer.

In addition to the Black Panther Party work, Fred Hampton created a group called the rainbow coalition.
He united various races under the coalition, i.e., poor whites, Puerto Ricans, black Chicago gangs, etc.

On December 4th, 1969, the FBI and the police collaborated to assassinate Fred Hampton. In the middle of the night, the police broke down the door and started shooting. They fired more than 90 shots into his house, killing Fred Hampton while he lay in bed with his wife.
